Times are tough. Life always has a way of getting in the way. But things are the way they are because they are the way they are. As annoying as this phrase is, it’s also true. The hard part then becomes getting used to it, and / or accepting it. This is where Uketamo comes in.

This one phrase, developed in the Dewa Sanzan mountains here in Yamagata, encapsulates all that you need to live well, i.e. acceptance.

Being able to accept things for what they are, and just as importantly yourself for who you are, is an important part of what it means to live well.

Do that, and you can feel comfortable in your own skin. Do that, and you can feel satisfied with what you’ve got. Do that, and you can do anything.

All you need is Uketamo.
