Try only being able to say one word for a day. Try it while being essentially forced to undertake ascetic rituals such as fasting, waterfall meditation, walking in silence.

That’s Yamabushi training. That’s what we do out on the mountains. Think you could do it? Think you could go a day or three without talking? Without asking questions?

It’s harder than it sounds.

However, when all you can do is accept, it’s also much easier.

When you’re only allowed to say ‘Uketamo’, I accept, when you’re only allowed to do what your master asks of you, it takes the thinking out of the equation.

Your only choice is Uketamo. Your only choice is to accept.

As in Yamabushi training, as in life.
